Oh boy! I have a lot of words to say. I won't claim this will be a short blog post, because that's just not true. I process things better when they're presented as bullet points, so here's what's been going on with me:
- It's been a struggle, especially leading into the holidays. I'm going to let you in on a secret: I hate Christmas. I blame it on my years working retail plus the fact that it does a number on my mental health. It's just not my bag. I fell into a deep pit of sadness for about two weeks that I'm just now beginning to claw my way out of.
- During my bummer time, I stepped back from social media. This is something that I used to do at least once a year in the past to give myself a break. I hadn't done it in YEARS because I'm trying to run a business here and unfortunately, social media is necessary for that. I'm glad I did it.
- In my time off, I decided to teach myself a new art skill: Printmaking! I've enjoyed the process of drawing and carving blocks. The actual printing part has been giving me the blues. It requires a lot of practice and patience which I don't usually have when trying something new. I still haven't gotten print that I feel is "good enough", but I refuse to give up! Strictly because I'm stubborn and I've spent so much money on supplies. Oops!
- I also listened to SO MANY audiobooks. For a minute I was afraid I was ready to ditch ebooks forever and switch to audiobooks. However, I realized I'm not obsessed with audiobooks, I just really like the narrator that this particular author uses. I finished all the available books in 3 of her series in 20 days!
- I haven't made anything new, but I have lots of things floating around in my head. I've decided tonot put anything else into production until January. No reason to stress myself out more than I already will be.
- I am now an American Booksellers Association Partner! That just means they promote me on their website/newsletters to their members. So if you or someone you know owns a bookstore, send them my way for discounts!
Some stuff I've been loving lately:
- Every album by Noah Kahan. It's the only music I've been listening to for almost two months.
- Cozy historical mysteries! Specifically the Cleopatra Fox Series by C.J. Archer. This is the series that made me love her narrator!
- As far as TV is concerned, I've mostly been rewatching Bob's Burgers. We also started 'Man on the Inside' on Netflix and it's been delightful.
Ok. I guess that's all. Love you. Byeeeeeee!
